The Miami VA Health Care System requires the replacement and upgrade of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) components in the utility plant Building #44 to address the deficiencies and corrective action found in the facility condition report (FCA).
The project objective is to replace and upgrade the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) components in the utility plant Building #44. Removal and replacement of duct and piping associated with building HVAC. Repairs and improvements to the chilled water system to include removal and replacement of 4 existing 60 HP horizontal split case chilled water pumps (primary pumps), and removal and replacement of 12 existing end suction chilled water pumps (secondary pumps). Identify and correct corrosion on the condenser water piping. Replacement of insulation on chilled water piping. Repaint all condenser water piping and remove corrosion. Limited insulation will be replaced where required for installation of new pumps. Electrical power connected to existing mechanical units shall be demolished back to source. All exiting conductors and accessories shall be demolished. Conduits concealed in concrete walls or slabs shall be abandoned. Wiring in abandoned conduits shall be demolished back to source. Existing circuit breakers and disconnect switches shall be demolished back to source. Existing conductors shall be pulled back to the branch circuit protective device and such device shall be identified as a spare. Existing conduit shall be reused if adequate for the new circuit breaker to be installed during construction as per the 100% Final Design, Narrative and Specifications provided from Toland Mizell Molnar.
