Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items (supply) prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation document, incorporated provisions, and clauses in effect are IAW FAR, DFAR, AFFARS and all other related guidance.



The solicitation number is FA481924QA006



This acquisition is a 100 percent Small Business Set-Aside. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336413, Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing and a Product Service Code (PSC) 1710. The 2023 Small Business Size Standard is 1250 Employees.



Offers (Quotes) received in response to this solicitation will be evaluated IAW FAR 52.212-2(a) using the following factor(s) to determine best value: PRICE. Please note the following: 1) Pricing submitted in response to this RFQ shall remain in effect until October 30, 2023; 2) Contractors interested in submitting an offer (Quote) must acknowledge the requirement that prospective awardees shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to award, during performance, and through final payment of a contract agreement, IAW FAR 52.204-7, System for Award Management. Also, IAW FAR 52.204-13, System for Award Management Maintenance; a contractor is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the data within the SAM database and is required to review and update their SAM registration on an annual basis.



Questions and Government Response: All questions concerning this solicitation must be submitted no later than 2:00 P.M. CST, December 1, 2023. Any questions that are received in conjunction with this solicitation and the corresponding responses by the Government will be posted as an Amendment to System for Award Management (SAM), website: www.sam.gov.



Contractors shall submit all quotes by 8 December 2023 @ 02:00 PM CST electronically by emailing the Contract Specialist, Amn Fidencio Posadas at fidencio.posadas@us.af.mil and the Contracting Officer, SSgt Thomas Prospere Jr at thomas.prospere@us.af.mil, and with the subject line "FA481924QA006 - Quote".



The piston assembly is an integral part of the BAK-12 Arresting System brake and clutch assemblies. The item is a critical part of the BAK-12 Aircraft Arresting System and the Mobile Aircraft Arresting System (MAAS) whose sole mission is to stop tail hook equipped fighter aircraft on aborted take-off (engine failure) or when declaring an, flight emergency requiring the aircraft to engage the runway barrier to prevent potential damage to the airframe and/or loss of aircrew.



Any company/product provider that is chosen must be First Article Testing (FAT) approved.
