Description

The Fleet Readiness Center Procurement Group Patuxent River, MD 20650 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Industrial Marine, Inc., CAGE 1QX62, 7259 Old Plank Road, Jacksonville, FL, 32254-2754 using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13 procedures under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) Urgent Requirement.

The Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Atlantic Voyager Repair Team has a requirement for the welding, machining, final blast, and paint of a quantity of the SHUTTLE FRAME, P/N 622559 1720-01-158-1698, under 2ND DOG WELD REPAIR CRITERIA. The Catapult Shuttle is an aviation Critical Safety Item (CSI). A critical path in the launching of aircraft aboard aircraft carriers, the catapult shuttles are a mission essential component that will cause degradation to the fleet’s ability to perform assigned missions in support of the warfighter, should the welding, machining, final blast, and paint not be completed. The shuttles are urgently needed to fill outstanding requisitions, and the impact if timelines for these repairs is are not met will be detrimental to the warfighter. After extensive research, Industrial Marine, Inc. was found to be the only capable vendor to weld and machine these shuttles in accordance with NAVAIR 51-15ABD-2 change 1. Industrial Marine, Inc. has successfully completed prior contracts, are compliant to NAVAIR CAI/CSI directives, and are certified to perform the work. For this reason, due to the urgent requirement, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Industrial Marine, Inc., CAGE 1QX62.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
