NAVFAC Southeast 5G Telecommunications Industry Day 2023:
Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southeast is hosting an Industry Engagement Day, on March 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT at the Adam W. Herbert University Center 12000 Alumni Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32224.
There will be a break-away session from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to discuss 5G Telecommunication opportunities.
Commander, Navy Region Southeast (CNRSE) is exploring opportunities to bring commercial 5G service to Installations throughout Navy Region Southeast. The goal is to improve service coverage and increase network capability for all cellular subscribers on Installations within the Southeast Region.
CNRSE is reaching out to Telecommunication leaders to discuss the deployment and expansion of commercial 5G infrastructure, such as Small Cells and DAS, on Navy property. CNRSE is also looking to commercial 5G infrastructure providers to help identify specific solutions for the many Installations that fall under its management.
The goal is to assure Navy system and personnel have the access to commercial broadband systems that they need. Wireless broadband is a force enabler that assists and improves the ability of Sailors and Marines to meet their mission requirements. It is not only necessary for future enhanced telecommunications capabilities, but is an important aspect of quality of life for service members and their families.
CNRSE manages and oversees shore Installation management support and execution for 18 Installations within the Southeastern United States.
