Project Name: Preserve Fencing Repairs and Replacement- Hurricane Ian Repairs Scope of Work: .The Lee County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) desires to obtain services from a skilled and qualified CONTRACTOR to provide labor and materials for the repair and or replacement of various types of field fencing, barbed, barbless wire fencing, top railing, and posts, on several Preserves in Lee County that sustained damage due to Hurricane Ian. 1.2.The CONTRACTOR shall provide the plans, materials, fabrication, labor, supervision, tools, travel, fuel, costs, removal of refuse from COUNTY property, site preparation, and disposal of refuse necessary to perform the services required in accordance with the proposal documents or as defined prior to repairs by and authorized COUNTY representative. 1.3.The CONTRACTOR shall examine any and all peculiarities and limitations of the spaces and shall exercise due caution to ensure that all parts of the work are performed adequately, and shall maintain easy accessibility maintenance purposes. Before proceeding with the respected work, the CONTRACTOR shall check and verify all dimensions and shall assume all responsibility for the fitting of their equipment and materials to other equipment and/or structures. 1.3..1. Many of the preserves have mangroves near or in the vicinity of the fencing locations, CONTRACTOR shall address all environmental concerns with the on-site Natural Areas Coordinator. Many of the preserves also have Gopher Tortoises and other protected species on site that shall be protected during work. 1.4.The CONTRACTOR shall use new materials that match existing fences as close as possible. Where color or materials are no longer available or issue arises, replacement materials shall be approved in writing by the Project Manager. 1.5.Any damage to COUNTY property (e.g., parking areas, walkways, native landscaping, undamaged fencing and gates) caused by the CONTRACTOR shall be the sole responsibility of the CONTRACTOR to repair the damage at no cost to the COUNTY.
