The City of Naples (CITY) is soliciting pre-qualifications from experienced marine
contracting firms in good standing and authorized to transact business in the State of
Florida to provide construction services for the PIER. This is a first part of a two-part
bid process to replace the existing Naples Pier, in Naples, Florida. The result of this
Request for Qualification will result in a qualified bidders list for the second part of
Naples Pier Reconstruction - Invitation to Bid (ITB).
The City of Naples (City) is pre-qualifying contractors planning to participate in
bidding on the City’s Naples Pier Reconstruction Project. The Project scope generally
includes the following:
Construction of a 1,000-foot coastal pier with concrete pilings, bents, longitudinal
girders, IPE decking and railing, and Polynesian- style covered wood structures.
Any contractor intending to submit a bid on this project must be pre-qualified. The City
is separately pre-qualifying firms to serve as the Prime Contractor for the balance of
work associated with the Project. The Contractor shall self-perform at least 25% of the
work not including the purchase of materials. Prequalification is only required for prime
contractors . This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) has been developed to pre-qualify
Contractors for bidding on the Project.
The future Invitation to bid (ITB) for Naples Pier Reconstruction will be solicited only from
the list of pre-qualified contractors approved by the City from the RFQ. Any
contractor who plans to submit a bid for this Project must be pre-qualified through
the RFQ process.
